USA PATENT GRANTED FOR SLAB FLAT PANEL SPEAKER INVENTION

Auckland, New Zealand (1 August 2002) - Slab Technology Limited, the Intellectual Property company of the Slab Group of Companies has been granted its USA Patent (US 6,411,723,B1) June 25th 2002 for its remarkable flat panel loudspeaker panel now in volume production world wide.

The long list of references, publications and prior art cited by Slab in the USA patent process, serves to reinforce the inventions unique properties that make it so versatile and suitable for high quality mass-produced flat panel speakers.

The Slab flat panel speaker patent has already been granted in other key or strategic markets such as New Zealand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, United Kingdom, Germany (Utility patent) and South Africa. The USA grant will accelerate market development of flat panel speakers with Slab gaining ground as the preferred flat panel for home, commercial and marine speaker systems.

WORLDWIDE GIANT EASTECH SIGNS WITH NZ TECHNOLOGY COMPANY SLAB

Auckland, New Zealand (30th April 2002) - Slab Sound Limited, the flat panel speaker division of the Slab Group of Companies has concluded a trading agreement with the world's largest box speaker manufacturer, Eastern Asia Technology Limited (EASTECH). EASTECH produces a wide range of consumer electronics systems including all levels of audio systems, MP3 players, DVD players and LCD monitors for such major global consumer brands as Philips, JBL, Dell, TEAC, Kenwood, TDK, Sony Sanyo, Panasonic, Sharp and Pioneer.

In what is a major agreement not only for Slab but for the flat panel industry world-wide, EASTECH will fund several development projects and provide the channel to market for a new range of flat panel home audio and home theatre systems.
